| Business Analysis |
Business analysis is a service provided by ourselves at Time Software to better model your business flows and processes. The analysis is not necessarily computer systems oriented, although computer systems technology today is usually integral in just about every business flow and process.
Although business analysis is a discipline separate from actual systems design, at least some form of business analysis is required when designing a new system. This however is one task that most software development companies overlook when designing a new system. They simply commence by defining a solution without first pin-pointing the problem and its extent in the context of the overall business flow. So they simply produce a Systems specification for client approval without the client even knowing that the entire business and the nature of the actual problem has not been sufficiently understood! What adds to this problem is often a gross lack of communication throughout the development life cycle. So basically the systems people end up not knowing the overall context of where the system plugs into the business flow and the business people don't understand the potential shortcomings of the system. So even if the system is suitable to start with, dead-ends could be encountered in future development endeavours.
